LGBTQ+ friendly travel destinations in Europe - RainbowWarrior23 - 14-Aug-2024
Planning a trip to Europe next spring with my boyfriend and looking for recommendations! We want to go somewhere that's not just tolerant but actually welcoming and has a visible queer community.
We're thinking 10-14 days, probably 2-3 cities. We love good food, museums, nightlife, and just wandering around interesting neighborhoods. Budget is flexible but not unlimited.
I've heard amazing things about Berlin and Amsterdam, but I'm curious about other options too. What are your favorite LGBTQ+ friendly European destinations?

Berlin is incredible! The queer history there is so rich and the nightlife is unmatched. Definitely put it on your list.
I'd also suggest:
- Barcelona - amazing food, beautiful architecture, and a great gay scene
- Copenhagen - super progressive, beautiful city, and surprisingly good nightlife
- Vienna - gorgeous city with a growing LGBTQ+ community
Prague is also worth considering - it's become much more LGBTQ+ friendly in recent years and it's absolutely stunning.

Oh, and if you do go to Berlin, make sure to visit the Schwules Museum (Gay Museum) - it's fascinating and really puts the city's queer history in context.
Amsterdam is also fantastic but can be pretty touristy. If you go there, try to get beyond the central canal area to see the real city.
Either way, you're going to have an amazing time! Europe is generally very LGBTQ+ friendly these days. ?
